Compulsory Assignments

Below you will find a to-do-list of the assignments you need to do for the English 5 course.

  • Write a personal narrative on A Musical Memory. A personal narrative is Writing about your own personal experience. Use the first person Point of view and describe a memory connected to a certain song. Use details to express situations and explain your emotions. Make sure your text has a good structure. 300-600 Words. Before you hand in your final version you are required to review a draft. HERE you will fin Nick Honby´s musical memory.

  • Give your fellow student feedback on her/his Musical Memory. Remember to be positive and encouraging! You should tell your fellow student 1. This is the main story of your essay.. 2. This is what I found most interesting. 3. This is what I would have wanted to read more about.

  • Summarize a chapter of your own choice in Context. HERE you will find an example of a summary.

  • Write a Letter to the Editor. A letter to the editor of a newspaper or an Internet page is a kind of argumentative essay. You present a problem in society, tell your reader in which way this is a problem and you suggest a solution to the problem. Remember that your aim is to convince you reader. HERE you will find an example of a letter to the editor.

  • Participate in at least four discussions in class.

  • Answer all questions for chapter 15 in Context, in writing.

  • Participate in all parts of the National Test. This test will take Place during weeks 20 to 21. HERE you will find examples from the national test.

  • Read a novel during the last month of the term. Be prepared to speak, discuss and write about your novel.
  • Show and tell: Bring an item from your home or something else you want to tell your fellow students a story about.
